So I guess we are back to “Victim of the Week” style of Jigoku Shoujo, but that’s okay. For various reasons, I liked this episode quite a lot, even though I was hoping to see more of Tsugumi and Hajime-chan. The plot of this episode was also very intriguing; though during the episode, I kept on remember that Jigoku Shoujo anime episode where a girl committed virtual suicide when she force her friend to pull the string when she was the target herself. (It was episode 10, “Friends”, I think)

Well… This has to be the best episode so far, just because it has siscon, murder, kidnapping, detectives, mystery, torture, blood, and “ippen shinde miru”. Oh, did I mention that it has SISCON? Seriously though, even though this episode has some problems, it was quite enjoyable. It also made Mr. Cynical Shibata Hajime convert to the church of Jigoku Shoujo. He’s now a believer.

逢魔の砌 (Ouma no Migiri)

I’m glad that I was right in guessing the girl at the end of episode 3 was Tsugumi. Hopefully, the story is going to start focusing more on the continuing tension with the Shibatas rather than stand alone episodes. This episode is mostly about Hajime finding out about Jigoku Tsuushin, and less about the victim and the target.

WordPress Upgrade (or downgrade?)

It seems that WordPress is doing something about their backends (pun intended), and the “Visual Editor” that most people use is turned off. So we are left to type entries in html code. I found this out since I’m writing my Jigoku Shoujo Ep. 4 entry right now, and those “easy to use” icons for adding pictures and stuff is no where to be seen. Fortunately, I still have some html skills, but it’s taking me a little longer than expected to finish the entry. I was originally going to post it tonight, but I probably won’t finish writing and editing it until tomorrow morning, HK time.

Update: Backlog Hell and NDS

Okay, I admit it. I’ve been slacking off in updating the site, and only for two reasons, both minor by most accounts. Worse, this blog is only 1 month old and I’m slacking off already:

1) Backlogs are bad for motivation. I’ve backlogged 3 Jigoku Shoujo, 2 Death Note, 2 Kanon, and 4 Black Lagoon episodes during the time when my computer when down, and frankly, blogging about all of them became rather daunting since I’m rather new at blogging and it takes me a long time to write an entry. However, I will start writing about Jigoku Shoujo very soon again, and I’ve made that my priority. Black Lagoon, Death Note, and Kanon entries will become impression only entries, and will probably remain so. Hopefully when the new season arrives I will be more accustomed to writing and start writing more.

2) I just bought a NDS lite and it’s been sucking up most of my time. I’m starting to name my NDS the Nintendo Draining System, as it has been draining my time and money. I think only crack addicts has it worse. I’m playing FF3 and Phoenix Wright, and I have the GBA remakes of the old FF series lined up as well. So *sigh* hopefully I’ll get my priorities right and start blogging again.

So I’ll most likely post Jigoku Shoujo eps 4 summary Friday, with 5 and 6 during the weekend. And thanks for putting up with me.
