supercell – 君の知らない物語 (Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari)

Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari by supercell, ED to Bakemonogatari, one of the better shows of this season. Bakemonogatari is adopted from a series of light novels by NisiOisiN, famous for his Zaregoto series. The video above is not actually the PV of the song, but a MAD from Nico Nico Douga (account required). The real PV could be found here, but I much prefer this version.

2007 Spring Recap & Summer Picks

Since the spring season is over and summer show are about to begin (or has begun), and it’s as good of a time as any for a review of the last season and a preview of the next. The below is a list of shows that I watched last season and hoping to watch for the next:

Review: Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou Tou

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou Tou

I found myself being totally burned out from work last week and decided to dig through my dusty stack of anime sitting in my HDD waiting to be watched. I wanted something mindless and shortish, so I thought Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou Tou (東京魔人學園剣風帖 龖) suited my needs pretty well.

Love Planet Five (I’ve special unit) – 天壌を翔る者たち (Tenjo wo Kakeru Monotachi)

Considering that the 灼眼のシャナ (Shakugan no Shana) movie was released last month (4/21/2007), and I just got my hands on the two theme song single CDs (this and 赤い涙/Beehive (Akai Namida), what kind of Shana fan would I be if I don’t write about them?

Kanon 2006 08: 狐とおでん (Fox and Oden)

It seems that the beginning of the end of Makoto’s arc is happening in this episode, with the introduction of Amano Mishio, Yuuichi recalling his past with Makoto, and Makoto’s weakening. Considering that I have watched the Toei version but have not played the game on Makoto’s arc, I’m interested in what that would happen in KyoAni’s expanded version, but I’m also saddened by the end of her arc approaching. Auu…

Death Note 08: Potato Chips That Kills

Compared to last week’s episode, there was quite a bit of plot development and action in this episode. Unfortunately, the animation suffered a bit as well. Ryuk looks positively weird in a lot of the scenes, not just because of the action involved or that he was suffering from Apple withdrawal. L and Light had a few scenes where they look slightly off as well, though not too noticeable. However, the rest of the episode look pretty good still, so I guess they put most of the budget of this episode into special and video effects and the dirty magazines. j/k Seriously though, I really thought the dirty magazines were drawn better Ryuk in this episode.

Black Lagoon 16-18: This ain’t no Miami Vice

I have mentioned that I’m watching Black Lagoon when the arc is complete so I don’t have to languish for the next episode. As soon as I got episode 18, I lined up all three episodes and got ready for some fun. And oh, how fast they flew by. If the last arc of Black Lagoon with Hansel and Gretel is a horror/drama, this arc is an action packed who’s who of Roanapur. It is none stop action from the first minute to the last, sprinkled with a good portion of character development.
